REDUSAT awarded with Confectionery Innovation of the Year 2009 at FIE Frankfurt

 

The Food ingredients Excellence Awards celebrate the best innovations and companies involved in the ingredients community. This year the final judging of the Fi Excellence Awards was held on the first day of Fi Europe 2009.

Fuji Oil Europe's REDUSAT was awarded in the category Confectionery.

REDUSAT addresses a major problem in health and nutrition: overconsumption of saturated fats. They increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, but from a functional point of view we need them to give structure to food products. REDUSAT contains less than half the amount of saturates, while keeping the same structure.

In 2009 Fuji Oil Europe and Flanders Fillings & Compounds participated at the FIE Frankfurt exhibition. This fair is clearly the reference in Europe for the food ingredients industry. You are very welcome to visit us at our booth on location 8Q19.

FUJI OIL EUROPE opens new division FLANDERS FILLINGS & COMPOUNDS


In the seaport of Ghent, Fuji Oil has started the operation of a new compound chocolate plant. The Belgian chocolate plant is the 6 th in line ; Fuji Oil already runs similar operations in Japan (3 plants), Indonesia and China. Fuji Oil is the number 1 chocolate producer in Asia.

The new Belgian plant has over 2.600 m 2 of production area available.

The division is called Flanders Fillings & Compounds. It will produce compound chocolate for the confectionery, biscuits and icecream industry. Many customer-specific recipes will be offered to the customers in the praline and toffee industry.

Flanders Fillings & Compounds is also a “made in Belgium” support for all the other Fuji Oil chocolate plants.

For the chocolate recipes, Flanders will have all cocoa ingredients (liquor, natural powder, alkalized powder) as well as all milk ingredients (skim milkpowder, full cream milkpowder, wheypowder, lactose) available. When requested, mixes with hazelnutpaste (praliné) are also available.

The products will be obtained with the highest of available technologies in the industrial chocolate business. Flanders Fillings & Compounds wants to be present in the premium quality segment and this technology is required.

As a bonus, the company can rely on the expertise and the know-how of Fuji Oil Europe, in order to select the most appropriate and functional fats. Fuji Oil Europe is answering to all health claims in the European market. The selected fats will mainly be non-hydrogenated and as low in saturates as possible.

Flanders Fillings & Compounds, just like every Fuji Oil division, has a very strong product development team ; we want want to work in very close relation with the customer in order to obtain the most appropriate solution.

Product range : MELANO LT

 

We are very proud to present two new, low trans products within the MELANO range of non-lauric cocoa butter replacers.

MELANO LT 130 G and MELANO LT 150 G have a trans fatty acid (TFA) level that is most likely the lowest in the market of NL-CBR. Both products are characterised with an optimal balance between quality and price. They are non-temper, non-GMO fats with a good mouthfeel and an optimised crystallisation speed.

Health aspects and food safety are nowadays of growing concern to users and producers of food products. Consumers are getting more and more aware of the relation between health issues and their nutritional habits. Therefore, interest in healthy products is growing, as well as the amount of food products with improved nutritional profile.

Related to oils and fats two major issues in relation to nutrition and health are important:
